Step I Revision and free talk

  1. Think about life in the future
  2. Think about life on another planet
  3. Talk about the advantages and disadvantages of a certain situation

Step Ⅱ Lead-in

1. Say: What are life like now? What life will be like on the earth in the future? What will people do in the future?

2. AskWhich other planet do you want to live on in the future

Step Ⅲ  Presentation

1Show some pictures: Review “robot ”, “helmets”, “pills” and complain Mars.

2. Explain the context of Part A .Daniel is thinking about what it might be like to live on Mars. He is comparing life on earth to what life might be like on Mars and whether Mars would be a better or worse place to live.

Check the students’ answers.

3. Ask students to work in pairs to complete Part B .Ask one student to read out the name of each object in turn. Then ask students to say whether they think Daniel should take the object.

Now Eddie and Hobo are talking about Mars. Listen to the dialogue between Eddie and Hobo, and then try to answer.
